1. Thank You
I value personal connections, be them permanent or transient.
2. Contacting Me
If you are going to send me an unsolicited message asking for help or to connect with you, please make it easy for me to help you. Among other things:
- Tell me how you found me and why you are contacting me
- Include links back to your Linkedin profile
- Tell me clearly how I can help you (and how you can help me)
Here is where you can find me:
- Twitter: @Marcio_Saito (English)
- Twitter: @Marcio_SaitoBR (Portuguese/Brazil)
- Google+: Marcio Saito
- Linkedin: Marcio Saito
- E-mail: First dot last at sbcglobal dot net
2. Areas of Interest
I am generally interested in anything at or around the junction of Technology and Business.
Professional: Entrepreneurship, Brazil-Silicon Valley, Social Media, Crowdsourcing, Telecom/Communications, Marketing, Mobile, IT and Data Center technologies, Open Source Software Development, Business Development, R&D.
Personal: Wine, Chess, Food, Mountains and Outdoors.
3. Use of Social Media
Twitter – I post several times a day, occasionally publish automated posts early morning (time zones of interest: Brazil, East Coast) and engage ad hoc during the day as thoughts and discussions emerge. I follow a lot of people, but generally only people I have meaningfully interacted with.
LinkedIn - I am liberal connecting with people I’ve worked with. Expect to get an invitation from me if we are talking in a business context. The fact that I connect with someone doesn’t necessarily mean I endorse that person professionally. I post to LinkedIn updates on business subjects once or twice a day. Unless it is obvious, when you send me an invitation to connect, tell me why.
Facebook – I reserve Facebook to interact with people who are friends in real life (family, personal friends and select colleagues/ex-classmates). Most of my posts are personal in nature (i.e. I rarely post on business there). My posts on Facebook are Public, so if you are interested, you can “follow” me.
Unless otherwise indicated, I wrote the content in this site and everything I publish under my name. The posts represent my views and opinions when I wrote it. I often change my mind and learn new things, so I might think differently now. There is some leak of content between my personal and professional activities and I try to keep them aligned but my blog posts don’t necessarily represent the views and opinions of my past, present or future employers. Quote and use content if you find anything useful, but please attribute and link back.
