Connecting and Interacting With Me – and what you get.

2. Subjects of Interest

You can sample my writings in my website, but I am generally interested in anything at or around the junction of Technology and Business.

Work focus areas: Social Media and Social Business, Crowdsourcing, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, IT and Data Center technologies, Business development, R&D, social media, business models.

Personal: Wine, Movies, Food, Mountains and Outdoors (mostly on weekends).

3. Social Media

I am an avid user and relatively high-volume publisher (including blog). To make that activity meaningful to me and to my connections, here is the approach I take.

Twitter – I occasionally publish automated posts early morning (time zones of interest: Brazil, East Coast) and engage ad hoc during the day as thoughts  and discussions emerge. I take part in a few Twitter chats during the week. I occasionally chronicle personal life. I check for @ mentions and DMs several times a day. Follow-back policy: If you have a face and real name and we interact in Twitter, I will follow/follow-back.  If you decide to follow me based on lists or my previous content, please send me brief @ message saying why/how you found me.

Facebook – I reserve Facebook to interact with people who are friends in real life (family, personal friends and select colleagues/ex-classmates). Most of my posts are personal in nature (i.e. I rarely post on business there). I check-in several times, often react to posts by others and post a couple of times a day. Most of my posts on Facebook are Public, so if we are not friends but you are interested, you can “follow” me.

LinkedIn – I am liberal connecting with people I’ve worked with. Expect to get an invitation from me if we are talking in a business context and, of course, feel free to ignore – I do understand people have different practices. The fact that I connect with someone doesn’t necessarily mean I endorse that person professionally. I post to LinkedIn updates on business subjects once or twice a day. Unless it is obvious, when you send me an invitation to connect, tell me why we should connect.

I often change my mind and learn new things, so I might think differently now.
